How it works
Collective Research runs transparent, collaborative benchmark studies. Here's exactly what that means — how a study runs, what you get in return for taking part, and how your data is handled.
Our vision
An honest picture, for every company
We believe every company — not just those with large consulting budgets — deserves a clear, honest view of where it stands in its digital journey, measured against real peers rather than guesswork or generic industry claims.
Our mission
Built together, useful for everyone
Each study works the same way: companies contribute a small amount of information about themselves, and in return receive a personalized summary of their own results. As more companies take part, everyone's picture gets richer — including yours.
The process
How a study runs, step by step
1. Early access
You sign up to be notified. This costs nothing and doesn't commit you to anything.
2. Launch
Once enough companies have signed up, we announce a launch: how many companies are already on board, and a clear survey window (around 30 days).
3. Survey window (~30 days)
You complete a confidential 10–15 minute survey about your organization. Immediately afterwards, you receive your own Digital Maturity Snapshot — a summary of your results.
4. Full report (~45 days from launch)
Once the survey window closes, we compile the complete peer-benchmarked report from all participants and make it available to you.
What you get
Free, immediate, and growing over time
Your Snapshot
Included for every participant, right after the survey: your own scores across the key dimensions we measure.
The Benchmark Report
A more detailed report comparing you to similar companies by sector and size, available to participants at a reduced price once the study closes. Reports are delivered once payment is received.
Past studies
As Collective Research runs more studies on different topics, anonymized findings from earlier studies become available to browse.
A say in what's next
Participants help shape future surveys — this is version one, and feedback genuinely changes what we ask and how we report it.
Data & privacy
What we collect, and what we don't
We don't need personal information to run these studies — organizational, operational information about your company is enough. Your individual responses are never shared with anyone else, including other participants. Only anonymized, aggregated data is used to build benchmarks and reports.
Methodology
Built on established research, openly improved
Our surveys are built from established, widely studied frameworks for digital maturity — not invented from scratch. Methodology is reviewed by independent academic and industry advisors, and each study is treated as a version: feedback from participants directly shapes the next one.
Who's involved
Companies, advisors, and independent experts
Most participants are companies taking part in a study. Alongside them, academic researchers help review our methodology, and independent consultants are sometimes available if a company wants support in an area highlighted by their results — this is a connection we help make, not an endorsement or certification of any individual or firm.
